Day Seven

280 miles today, Nebraska to Kansas for a hot second (2 hours) and then into Colorado towards Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak! So excited.

Watching the mountain rise up from the horizon after 3 days of more or less flat corn fields was surreal. Especially because I didn’t realize that the eastern half of Colorado was desert. 100 degree blast furnace style heat for an hour and half as I stare at that mountain getting bigger and taunting me.

Finally made it to the hotel and spend the afternoon/evening in air conditioning planning out the next few days.
